about

I have experienced childhood from a perspective of severe asthma, eczema and allergies and the as a dietitian have trained and practiced in their dietary interventions. I have successfully helped many with an irritable bowel (IBS), short intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), gastro (tummy problems), intolerance such as histamine, weight and eating problems.   Working in varied health care roles has taught me challenges happen regardless of age, size, health and background.  When they do, I always give what I would expect if I was troubled:  confidence and practical help to navigate towards wellness using best practice.   I offer a personalised service and recognise only you can make the changes but I am here to help you; side by side, step by step.

I graduated from from Kings College London with a Bachelor in Science in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2009.   I was awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Allergy from Southampton University in November 2018 and qualified as a Mindful Eating Instructor from MB-EAT in 2020.  Previous to dietetics I worked in finance.

Along side private practice since 2010, I have practiced as specialist gastroenterology dietitian and lead specialist weight management dietitian for NHS services.  I currently work for an NHS Trust as a specialist allergy dietitian. I have worked privately with adult and adolescent mental health disorders, including experience with eating disorders and have attended continuous development training in Advanced Dietetics in Eating Disorders; CBT-Eating Disorders; Self-Guided Help; Emotional Coaching for Carers and ARFID for Dieticians – A Responsive Feeding Therapy Approach.  I provide dietary interventions in line with these therapies (along side other health professionals as appropriate).  I began full-time private practice from May 2018; seeing infants, children, young persons and adults. Whilst working for NHS services, I was recognised for my evidence based and effective practice; twice nominated for patient excellence and showcased on effectiveness to other health professionals and the Clinical Care and Quality Commission. I provide a range of dietary treatments and welcome working alongside new or existing health professionals to provide holistic care.

“I really valued our consultation and it’s helped me to get some perspective on my allergies/ intolerances. Thanks to you I now understand my allergies and reactions better and avoiding certain triggers (pollen related foods)”

“Thank you so much for your assistance with our daughter.  As so many teenagers are bombarded with so many mixed messages about healthy eating and body image her eating patterns became too controlled and her idea of what “healthy eating” was became very warped.  With your gentle, informative and very encouraging approach you showed her how she could make just a few small changes in her diet to ensure all her nutritional requirements were being met and it felt manageable to her.  She has made great progress and still follows your advice to the day.”

“As I am physically disabled, I knew conventional weight loss methods were no good to me. So, I asked for Brenda’s help and she was able to find a successful diet plan that suited my unique situation. We even found effective exercises I could manage. I’m fitter, lighter and happier.”
